Louise Thompson is an accomplished music producer, artist, composer, arranger, sound engineer, lyricist, DJ, academic writer, project/event manager and facilitator with over ten years of experience. She has extensive knowledge of music styles and music theory with an ear for sound and creativity. Her qualifications include; Certificate III in Event Management (TAFE NSW); Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAFE NSW); Diploma of Sound Production (SAE Institute Byron Bay); Bachelor Degree of Audio Production (SAE Institute Byron Bay); and Masters in Creative Industries (SAE Institute in Australia) where she focused on music production and musicology. Her practical expertise and scholarship interests focus on gender and music production, electronic music aesthetics, ethnography, musicology and DIY modalities of cultural production. She has participated in industry seminars and workshops including Gravitas Records Office Hours Temple Step Project–Monetisation and Philosophy of a Music Producer (March 2022); SAE MCI Masterclass Songwriting and Music Production–Bringing the Old School Back (January 2022); Sound Womxn Engineering Workshop with Michelle Barry (July 2020); WAMCon Recording Arts Conference-Song writing Tips with Linda Perry (June 2020); Music Cognition Workshop with Susan Rogers (May 2019); Becoming the Future–Music Production Workshop with Susan Rogers (May 2019); SAE Masterclass El Choop–Dub Techno Production (June 2018); and SAE Masterclass Mad Professor and Fred Wobbler–Dub Production Techniques and Analogue vs. Digital (May 2012).
