After 6 years as lead guitarist (and demo producer / arranger) for Melbourne quartet Autohaze, in 1998 I released my debut album as a singer-songwriter, It’s A Wonderful Life; self recorded and produced. In 2002, I recorded, mixed, produced and released my second solo album Whisky Bay, with full band, including horn section and strings.
I’m primarily an accomplished and versatile guitarist, but am also a very experienced bass player and drummer, reliable backing vocal singer and a (somewhat) passable keyboard player.
2009: Recorded and produced album Rising Vicious for singer-songwriter Waywardbreed.
2010: Recorded and edited 15 tracks for Paul Kelly’s spoken word CD box-set The A to Z Recordings.
2012: Recorded, produced and mixed Revelations EP for Melbourne band The Pope’s Assassins.
2013: Recorded, produced and mixed album Separation Street for local band Gold Gull.
I have a strong working knowledge of Pro Tools, PreSonus Studio One, Reaper, Audacity and other audio programs, and 25 years experience performing, recording and mixing / producing music, both analog and digital, live and in-studio.
I have recently been working for Matilda Education; creating, producing and voicing instructional videos for their online MyDigital platform. I also provide voice-over recording, editing and QC for their many online resources.
As Producer and Audio Engineer with Risk Sound (Audible) and Bolinda Audio, I recorded, directed and edited over 250 unabridged audio-books, working with some of Australia’s finest actors, narrators and authors, including Barry Humphries, Samuel Johnson, Mark Seymour, Barry Dickins, William McInnes, Mike McLeish, Rhys Muldoon and Humphrey Bower.
I have always loved all aspects of audio production, language and music, and have a tertiary educational background Music Theory & History / French Language & Linguistics.
